Quirkeinstein – “She’s Quirky but She’s got a Brain!”

Welcome to my very first Blog. “Quirkeinstein.” The name came to me one day walking along a pavement in a city and realising there were waaaay too many curbs! And high curbs at that. I imagined what it would be like to navigate that in a wheelchair or with a pram and thought to myself. Surely there should be more graduated curbs that are accessible for people? Every day I have random thoughts and musings like this so thought I would find a place to collect these thoughts.

I had been temping in a job and was also contemplating the fact that some people talk to temps like they don’t actually have a brain! Ha ha. And that if a female has a sense of humour sometimes that is viewed as being, like, weird or less intelligent! But actually it takes intelligence to create humour. Tee hee.

So I thought to myself you can be quirky, funny but also intelligent. And I came up with the name Quirkeinstein! Well it was originally, Quirkenstein. And that name floated about in my head for years. And no one appeared to have thought of it. But then I googled it today and there seems to be a few things with the name Quirkenstein out there but none of Quirkeinstein. Hence I chose the latter.

I was telling my friend on the phone I wanted to start a blog. But I am interested in so many things I couldn’t pick one theme. So this blog will cover all kinds of random things! The sky’s the limit!

Interestingly I was telling her the name I chose was to do with being quirky and that the Einstein reference was to do with intelligence. What made me laugh is that she had thought it was a Frankenstein reference! Mwah ha ha! So I thought to myself, what do Einstein, Frankenstein and myself all have in common? Well we’re all Vegetarians! Ha ha.

A quick google of the definition of “quirky” comes up with some of the following:

(of a person or their behaviour) unconventional and slightly strange.
“he noted her eccentric appearance”
synonyms: unconventional, uncommon, abnormal, irregular, aberrant, anomalous, odd, queer, strange, peculiar, weird, bizarre, off-centre, outlandish, freakish, extraordinary;

And “unusual in an attractive and interesting way.”

And “something that is strange / not normal / but cool.”

Urban Dictionary defines Quirky as “weird in a good way, sometimes describing a person with an excellent talent for mind-reading and has psychic abilities. A person that is quirky also has a way with words and spends a lot of time articulating thoughts and emotions whether in a car or writing in a journal. Quirky characteristics can also be a sign for the ability to put forth many amazing smiles from people.”

Welcome to my first every blog, Quirkeinstein and hope you enjoy my random thoughts Happy Easter Saturday 2018!
